Anatomy and physiology provide the necessary bases to understand the structures and functions of the human body. Definition of ANATOMY This word (anatomy) can be divided into two sections: 1.- As Ana- which means Through 2.- Tomia - which means Court Then we say that anatomy: It is the science that studies the body structures and the relationships between they. At first it was studied from the dissection: The word dissection can be divided into 2 parts, 1.- Dis- which means Separated 2.- Section- which means Cut So the dissection is the division into parts (not natural ) of body structures to study relationships
